OSP Toolkit Supports New ETSI Open Settlement Protocol

Open source client protocol stack for Open Settlement Protocol V4.1.1

Atlanta, Georgia (USA) –– May 17, 2004. TransNexus has released OSP Toolkit version 3.1.1. which supports new features defined in V4.1.1 of the expanded Open Settlement Protocol (OSP) standard ratified in November 2003 by the European Telecommunications Standard Institute (ETSI).  OSP is the global standard for inter-domain pricing, authorization and usage exchange.  New features in the OSP Toolkit:

  • Look ahead routing information can be extracted from authorization tokens for improved network efficiencies and call detail record reporting.
  • VoIP devices may now enroll with multiple certificate authorities and exchange traffic with multiple clearinghouses.
  • OSP messages can now be load balanced among multiple OSP servers.
  • Expanded support for SIP-H.323 inter-working.
  • Expanded support for SIP call scenarios.
  • Support for OSP Capabilities Exchange messages for automated reporting of device status.

The OSP Toolkit is the VoIP industry’s leading open source implementation of the OSP.  The OSP Toolkit has been production proven in commercial deployments since March 2000, and is integrated into the products of many leading VoIP vendors.

“Support for OSP is an important new feature in our Global Peering Solution.  OSP offers Veraz customers a standard back office option for managing interdomain access control and settlement for both SIP and H.323 networks,” said R. Paul Singh, VP Business Development, Veraz Networks.  “We chose to implement the OSP Toolkit from TransNexus because it complements our open platform and will benefit mutual customers moving forward.”  The OSP Toolkit is freely available from www.transnexus.com and includes complete source code, extensive documentation, test plans and test tools.
