TransNexus releases open source software for VoIP routing Software implements Cisco's Gatekeeper Transaction Message Protocol (GKTMP) Atlanta, Georgia (USA) –– November 9, 2005. TransNexus, Inc. has released its Gatekeeper Transaction Message Protocol (GKTMP) module as open source software under the free BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution) license. The Cisco GKTMP is Cisco’s highly flexible Gatekeeper Transaction Message Protocol which defines an open interface between an external route server and Cisco’s H.323 gatekeeper or Cisco’s SIP proxy. The new open source GKTMP module provides an open interface to the TransNexus commercial route server with profit optimizing features such as least cost routing, quality of service routing, automated credit controls and secure access control based on digital certificates and public key infrastructure (PKI) services. The new GKTMP module, available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gktmp-to-osp, is written in C and has been tested extensively on Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems. The module may be used with open source peering servers such as the OpenOSP or RAMS servers to create a reliable and feature rich peering server for Cisco VoIP networks.
