CALEA Requirements:

Section 103(a)(1) of the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) requires telecommunications carriers to establish the capability of providing to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) call content information, pursuant to a court order or other lawful authorization; and section 103(a)(2) of CALEA requires telecommunication carriers to establish the capability of providing to LEAs reasonably available call-identifying information (CII).

 OSPrey CALEA Module

The CALEA module is a value added module for the OSPrey peering server that enables VoIP carriers to fulfill their CALEA requirements for VoIP communications.  The user friendly module requires no technical expertise and may be operated clandestinely by the carrier's security staff to avoid detection by subscribers and internal operations staff.  The high performance module can detect specific VoIP calls in real time based on any combination of two million calling numbers, called numbers, source IP addresses or destination IP addresses and can transparently re-route targeted VoIP traffic as needed for law enforcement purposes.
